Imitation is the highest form of flattery...

or annoyance. I suppose it's flattering in one way, but the way Faith keeps doing it, it's just annoying!

So. here's the thing. Faith keeps copying every single little thing I do. If I tell Kadyn  something, Faith repeats it. If I want Mcdonalds for lunch, Faith says she wants it too. If I play in my room by myself, Faith barges in. And I can't get her out, because we share the room and it's really her room too!

This is really annoying me, and with everything else that's going on, I'm  losing my patience. I keep trying to have Faith make her own decisions, but it's hard sometimes when she just won't listen. I want her to be her own person, not just a duplicate of me!

Okay, I'm done. Thanks for letting me rant, it made me feel a lot better.

Random thoughts of the day

I really want to get out of the house. Go somewhere. Shake off this tiredness. I don't care where we go, be it park, library, a little errand running, or just some shopping for fun, just get me out of here!

My birthday is in 3 weeks. Yay for turning 12!

On another birthday note, I don't know what sort of cake I should have. I want some sort of weather cake, but Mom already did a tornado cake for me and I have no new ideas. Oh well, at least I've got a little while to figure it out.

I hope to get some good severe weather pictures soon. The problem is, every time there's severe weather, it's nowhere near us! *Sigh* I did get some pictures of those amazing towering cumulus yesterday!

Mom's foot got hurt a couple weeks ago when a door swung into it. She went to the doctor, and he said that the covering over her tendon was probably shattered. She had to ice it and not be on her feet for more than 2 hours a day. This morning she went to visit the doctor again, and he said Mom was babying it too much! They pushed her time she could spend walking to 4 hours a day and switched her to a different kind of medicine, "just to see what happens." Seriously, what kind of a doctor are you?

I have a little bit of a sore throat, just enough to have that sick sort of feeling you get. I really need to drink some water or milk, not just sit here on the laptop.

I will post some of my cloud pictures later. They are really cool!

The Easter Eggsperience

Every year our church has an Easter Eggsperience, which is this huge thing with petting zoos, egg hunts, bounce houses, carnival games, and a special Easter Path which takes you through the Easter story, letting you really experience it for yourself. We got to go, and it was a blast! First we went through the egg hunt, which was on the playground. You could collect a dozen eggs, and if you found one of the special prizes, ( a Barbie doll or a chocolate bunny) you could keep it.  I took Kadyn through, and she loved it. Next I took Kadyn to the petting zoo, which had baby goats, chickens, giant bunnies, a llama, and a little pony. Kadyn loved petting all the animals! After that Maverick and I went to the other petting zoo by ourselves. That one had little bunnies, guinea pigs, chickens, really tiny baby goats, a baby cow, a llama, and some bigger goats. Then we went up to the bounce houses.  We went on the obstacle course and the slide. Next we went to the carnival games. We did a bean bag toss, a fishing game, a bowling game, a Tiddly-winks game, and a spin-the-wheel game. After that we went through the Easter Path, which was very cool. There were all these different rooms where you did all this stuff. Then we met up with Gram and Pappy, then we went back to their house. It was quite fun, and I hope we can go back next year!

Tornado Outbreak

Yesterday there was a tornado outbreak here in North Texas. I saw on The Weather Channel that there were 14 confirmed tornadoes, with at least 3 of these major. One hit Arlington, severely damaging houses and also tearing through a truck yard (you can see the video of that, just go to weather.com). Another tornado went through Lancaster and damaged houses. The other tornado was in Kennedale and hit houses there. The damage was pretty severe everywhere, with houses crumbling and cars overturned. One house's top floor was completely sheared off, with only a little bit of debris left. Luckily, the worst of the storms went east of us so we only got a little of rain, thunder, and lightning. I looked at the radar and saw that the storms were kind of going near us and told Mom, who said we should keep an eye on it so we could go in the closet if we needed to. The storms got closer, and Mom said we should turn off the lights and go in her room just in case. Kannon was very scared, and I was a little scared too, but I did my best to remain calm so I didn't scare him more. The tornado sirens went off a little before it started raining, but they turned off after just a couple minutes. We stayed in Mom and Dad's room and watched the news. The middle three were pretty scared and went in the closet while Mom and I stayed out to watch the TV. We saw that the worst of the storms were going toward Dad, who was working in Plano. We were a little worried, so Mom called Dad to make sure he knew about the storms. Everyone was texting Mom to make sure we were okay, having been watching the news and seen the tornadoes. Mom texted them back to let them know we were okay. I saw the two worst storms were supercells with well-defined hook echoes, which are a hook-shaped appendage on a storm that usually indicates strong rotation and a possibility for tornadic development. We continued to monitor the storms and keep Dad informed. For a while, Plano was sandwiched in between the two storms until the one to the west started moving north-west. Fortunately, Plano didn't get hit very hard so Dad was fine. It was raining very hard there for a while, though. When the worst of the storms had passed, we came back out of Mom and Dad's room and waited for Dad to get home so he could take me to dance, because unfortunately Mom was sick and she couldn't take me. I ended up missing tap, but I made it to the rest of my classes.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any cool weather pictures. There were some cool mammatus clouds after everything was gone, but I was going to dance at the time so I couldn't take a picture. After dance, the whole sky was this brilliant yellow. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but I was way too tired to get one. I'm just glad I got to see it. I hope everyone was safe during the storms!

Another Injury

Yesterday we had another injury. Kannon hit his teeth on the metal ring on the outside of the trampoline. Dad had moved the trampolines right next to each other on Saturday so he could mow, and we were playing tag and bouncing from trampoline to trampoline to evade each other. Maverick was it, and he pushed Kannon from behind to try to tag him at the same time Kannon was jumping to the other trampoline. He hit his teeth and started screaming and ran inside, holding his shirt to his mouth. Maverick and I followed, trying to calm him down. Kannon ran into the kitchen. I grabbed a paper towel and pushed it into his hands, then ran to get Mom. She was just about to give Kadyn a bath and hadn't heard Kannon's screams over the running water. I told her what happened, and she immediately went to go look at him while I took care of Kadyn. Mom came back with Kannon moments later, Maverick and Faith close behind them. Mom managed to calm Kannon down enough for him to let her look at his teeth, and what she saw wasn't good. He had jammed his teeth up into his gums. Mom called Dad and sat Kannon down on the couch. She then called Gram and Pappy, who were there in minutes. Gram and Mom took Kannon to the Flower Mound place while Pappy stayed and watched us. About 45 minutes later, Pappy got a text from Dad saying that they still hadn't gotten in to have Kannon's teeth checked, it was too busy. Dad needed us to pack a tote bag with some books and toys to keep Kannon occupied while he was waiting to be seen. We packed a bag with books, his notebook, his froggy, and some cars for him to play with. Dad went back up to the hospital to give Kannon the bag. We went to bed soon after. Kannon didn't end up getting home until after midnight.
Today, Mom and Dad looked for a dentist they could take Kannon to. They found one that looked good, and Dad went up with Kannon for his appointment. They came home with good news. Kannon had pushed his baby teeth up into his gums, with no damage to his permanent teeth. He didn't have to have surgery. His baby teeth would come out on their own. He just has to eat soft things for a while to keep his teeth from hurting.
So, (thank goodness) this injury wasn't as bad as it could be!
